You may know that 3 out of every 4 deaths by suicide in the UK and Ireland are men.
But did you also know that:

  • Generic talking therapy is not addressing the specific psychological factors generating thoughts about suicide in men
    (Samaritans, 2012)

  • Between 2010 and 2022, the rate of UK men using talking therapies increased by 50%, and yet the rate of male suicide also increased - by 14%
(British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, 2022; Office For National Statistics, 2024)

  • Almost all (91%) middle aged UK men who die from suicide have been in contact with at least one frontline service or agency before their death
(National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Safety in Mental Health, 2021)
